Welcome to this week’s slightly delayed weekly club newsletter. I’ve been riding too much to write it! (Is there such a thing?). I’ve had a few members contact me who missed that this email is now sent to subscribers only, wondering where it went. If you hear anyone asking, point them to this link to sign up, or you can always find it on the club website on the News page.
- 73Degrees Bicycle Shop Open Day in Keynsham. They have their 10th anniversary Open day on Saturday (20th). Loads going on and it’s completely free. Bike fit demo, charity raffle, bargain bikes, 30% off all in stock Lake shoes, Left Handed Giant brewery in store, Keynsham Coffee Co in store. Cube, Ridley and Orro demo bikes (and deals) Tour de France on the big screen? and much much more. From 10am next Saturday, just turn up.
- Ewan’s Strava comp mid-month update: 9 riders have set times up Justin Desyllas‘s July segment. Nick Cox with a scorching 1:19 set the pace (and took the KOM). Ellie Ulrich was the first to climb this month – and also now fastest woman, having repeated the climb to keep ahead of Esther Ive. A couple of weeks left – hopefully the amount of fly-tipping will reduce before month end. Full results attached in the Facebook Group.
- Advance renewals warning: The automated membership renewal process will kick off in the next few weeks, with direct debits being claimed early in September. If you have VIP points you want to use instead you need to let me know well in advance please.
- Big rides: Mark Salthouse did the Down and Black Audax, at 135 miles, and having scratched on a big ultra race, Nick Livermore carried on and toured around in the area, also covering 135 miles on one day.
- New members this week: None this week.
